Hey there gorgeous beings! If you’re anything like me, you can’t leave the house without a lipstick, right? Even on the laziest days, putting on a bold lip color can make us feel put together and ready to take on the world. But, let’s face it, lipstick can be high maintenance, and it’s tough to keep it in place, especially during the day. Fear not, because in this blog post, I’ll share some of my favorite lipstick hacks to make your lippies last longer and look more flawless. So pucker up and let’s get started! 💋

Exfoliate your Lips before Application

Before applying your lipstick, exfoliate your lips with a scrub or a toothbrush. This will get rid of any dead skin cells and create a smooth surface for your lipstick to glide on. You can make a DIY lip scrub using brown sugar and coconut oil or even use a damp washcloth to gently exfoliate your lips. Trust me; exfoliating makes a huge difference in how your lipstick sits on your lips, making it last longer and look smoother.

Use a Lip Primer

A lip primer is a game-changer when it comes to long-lasting lipstick. It acts as a base for your lipstick, making it adhere better to your lips, and preventing it from feathering or bleeding. You can use a dedicated lip primer or use a dab of your concealer or foundation as a base. Applying a lip primer is a quick and easy step that can make all the difference in the longevity and finish of your lipstick.

Line your Lips with a Lip Pencil

Lip liner is another essential product for long-lasting, flawless lipstick. Use a lip liner that matches the color of your lipstick, and line your lips before applying your lipstick. This will create a barrier for your lipstick, prevent it from feathering or bleeding, and add definition to your lips. You can also fill in your lips entirely with the lip liner to create a matte base for your lipstick.

Apply your Lipstick with a Lip Brush

For a precise and long-lasting lipstick application, use a lip brush. A lip brush allows for more control over the amount of product applied and helps to evenly distribute the lipstick on the lips. It also allows you to get into the corners and edges of your lips. Even if you prefer applying your lipstick directly from the tube, using a lip brush will ensure a more polished and long-lasting finish.

Blot, and Repeat

To make your lipstick even more long-lasting, blot your lips with a tissue after applying your first layer of lipstick. Then reapply another layer of lipstick and blot again. This will create a more even and longer-lasting finish. You can repeat this process a few times until you reach the desired shade and finish.

Set your Lipstick with Powder

For extra staying power, set your lipstick with a translucent powder or a matching eyeshadow shade. After applying your last layer of lipstick, take a tissue and place it over your lips. Then, using a fluffy brush, lightly dust some powder or eyeshadow on top of the tissue. This will help to lock in the lipstick and keep it in place for hours.
