As someone who loves to explore historical places, kayaking has become one of my favorite ways to get a unique perspective on these locations. Once you have your gear sorted, you’ll want to choose where you’ll be kayaking. Some fantastic places to start might be New England, particularly the coastline of Maine, which features plenty of hidden gems and scenic routes.

Alternatively, you could also explore the Southern states of the US, from Virginia to Florida, where you can paddle through historic Civil War battlegrounds and other historic sites. Besides the US, other popular international sites for kayaking lovers include the inlets of Australia, the Fjords of Norway 🇳🇴, and the rivers of Germany 🇩🇪, to name a few.

Keep in mind that rain and tidal shifts can affect the water level and flow, so be sure to pay attention to the weather conditions before you head out. As always, it’s best to do your research before you plan your trip! 🧭
