Do you struggle with making meals for picky eaters? Does it feel like a constant battle to get them to eat anything other than chicken nuggets and macaroni and cheese? Don’t worry, you’re not alone. As a picky eater myself, I understand the struggle of trying new foods. But, with intermittent fasting (IF), there’s a way to make meals enjoyable even for the pickiest of eaters. In this blog, I’ll share with you some of my favorite IF recipes and tips to help make meals more enjoyable. Let’s get started!

🍴 Make Mealtime Fun

Making mealtime fun is key to getting picky eaters to try new foods. Switch up your routine by trying new recipes or getting creative with plating. Use fun plates or utensils that will make mealtime more exciting. You can also try involving your picky eaters in the cooking process. Let them help you prepare the meal or even pick out the ingredients. By involving them, they’ll be more likely to try new things.

🍔 Switch Up Your Protein

If your picky eater only likes chicken, switch it up by trying new types of protein. Turkey, fish, or even tofu are great options. You can also try combining proteins to create new and delicious meals. For example, turkey and spinach meatballs or salmon and avocado burgers.

🥦 Incorporate Hidden Veggies

If your picky eater won’t touch a vegetable, try incorporating them into the meal without them knowing. Puree veggies and add them to sauces or try making zucchini or carrot noodles instead of regular pasta. You can also try roasting vegetables with seasoning to make them more flavorful.

🍝 Try New Spices and Flavors

If your picky eater only likes plain or bland foods, try adding new spices and flavors to the meal. Experiment with different combinations to create a new and exciting taste. You can also try adding sauces or dips to enhance the flavor of the meal.

🍌 Incorporate Fruits

If your picky eater has a sweet tooth, try incorporating fruits into the meal. You can add them to salads, smoothies, or even as a side. Fruits are not only delicious, but they’re also packed with nutrients.

🔪 Keep it Simple

Lastly, don’t overcomplicate the meal. Sometimes the simplest meals are the most enjoyable. Keep it simple by creating a protein, carb, and veggie plate. If your picky eater only likes certain foods, let them have it. Remember, the goal is to make mealtime enjoyable.
