To perform Child’s Pose, start on your hands and knees. Sit back onto your heels, stretching your arms forward and bringing your forehead to the ground. You can leave your arms straight or place them by your sides. Take deep breaths, focusing on relaxing your back and shoulders.

Cat-Cow Stretch

Another fantastic pose for releasing tension in the spine is Cat-Cow Stretch. 🐱🐄 This pose involves moving between two positions, creating a gentle rocking motion.

To perform Cat-Cow Stretch, start on your hands and knees. On an exhale, round your spine like a cat, tucking your chin to your chest and bringing your belly up towards your spine. On an inhale, arch your back like a cow, lifting your head and tailbone towards the ceiling. Continue flowing back and forth between these two poses, moving with your breath.

To perform Downward-Facing Dog, start on your hands and knees. Lift your hips up and back, straightening your arms and legs to create an inverted V-shape with your body. Press your hands and feet into the ground, focusing on lengthening your spine and relaxing your head and neck.

Legs up the Wall

Legs up the Wall is a restorative pose that can help calm the nervous system and reduce anxiety. 🧍‍♀️ To perform this pose, you’ll need a wall or another sturdy surface.

To get into Legs up the Wall, sit with your side against the wall. Swing your legs up the wall as you lay on your back. Relax your arms by your side, or reach them overhead for a deeper stretch. Close your eyes and breathe deeply, allowing your body to relax and unwind.

Savasana

Lastly, we have Savasana, also known as Corpse Pose. 🧟 This is the final resting pose in many yoga classes, and it’s an excellent way to allow your body to fully relax and integrate the benefits of your practice.
