First and foremost, we must acknowledge the lack of diversity in award shows. Nominees and winners are often from the same race, gender, social class, and backgrounds. People from marginalized groups are often ignored, which perpetuates stereotypes and further marginalizes them. The lack of diversity creates a sense of exclusion and deprives talented individuals of opportunities.

Recognize Diversity in Film and Television 📺

Award shows must recognize the diversity that exists in film and television. Diversity can come in many forms: race, gender, sexual identity, religion, and socioeconomic status. Nominate diverse actors, producers, and writers for awards and feature their incredible work in the award ceremony broadcast.
