As a street photographer, there are certain routines that I follow every day to ensure that I capture the best shots and constantly improve my craft. Here’s a peek into what a typical day looks like for me!

Morning Routine ☀️

I always start my morning by checking the weather forecast. This helps me determine what type of lighting I’ll be working with throughout the day and plan accordingly. After that, I pack my camera bag with all the essentials - camera body, lenses, batteries, memory cards, and any other accessories I may need.

Before heading out, I grab a coffee and breakfast from my favorite spot. Fueling up for the day to come is crucial!

Scouting Locations 🗺️

Once I’m out on the streets, the first thing I do is scout for interesting locations, textures, colors, and patterns. I always keep my eyes open for potential shots, even when I’m just walking from Point A to Point B.

When I find a place that looks like it could make a great shot, I spend some time observing the surroundings, watching for people or objects that might add interest to the scene.

Capturing the Moment 📷

When I spot a subject or scene that I want to shoot, I take time to observe the lighting, angle of my camera, and composition. I move around to find the best vantage point, and then snap away.

It’s important to remain respectful while taking photos of strangers. If someone doesn’t want their picture taken, I respect their wishes and move on.

Post-Processing and Curation 🎨

After a long day of shooting, it’s time to head home and start the post-processing stage. I download my images onto my computer and edit them in Lightroom or Photoshop.

During the curation stage, I narrow down my selection of photos to my favorite ones. This helps me stay organized and maintain a consistent style across my work.

Sharing and Reflecting 📱

Once my images are edited and curated, I share them on my social media channels or website. Getting feedback from fellow photographers and followers inspires me to continue growing and improving my skills.

It’s also important to reflect on my day of shooting and analyze what worked and what didn’t. This helps me fine-tune my approach and ensure I’m always pushing my boundaries.

And with that, my day as a street photographer comes to a close. Each day offers new opportunities for creativity and growth, and that’s what keeps me coming back for more.
