Hello, friends! It’s important to show support for our loved ones who are going through mental illness, but sometimes we don’t know how to do it. Don’t worry, I’m here to help! Here are some tips for being a better ally:

Educate Yourself 📚

One of the most important things you can do to support someone with mental illness is to educate yourself. Do some research on their diagnosis, learn about the symptoms and treatments, and familiarize yourself with resources that may be helpful. It’s important to understand that everyone’s experience with mental illness is different, so don’t make assumptions.

Listen 🎧

When someone you love is struggling with mental illness, it’s important to be a good listener. This means giving them your full attention, validating their feelings, and not judging them. Try to be empathetic and understand their perspective. You don’t always have to have the answers, but just being there for them can make a big difference.

Offer Support 🤝

Offering support can mean many different things, depending on the situation.
