10. Kilgrave - Jessica Jones

At number 10 we have Kilgrave, the super-powered, mind-controlling nemesis of Jessica Jones. The British actor David Tennant brought a chilling performance to this character. With his power to control anyone he meets, Kilgrave was a terrifying villain that preyed on the most vulnerable people in society. His twisted obsession with Jessica, and his inability to recognize the horror of his actions, made him an unforgettable character.

9. Lorne Malvo - Fargo

Moving onto number 9, we have Lorne Malvo from the TV adaptation of the Coen Brothers movie, Fargo. Played by Billy Bob Thornton, Malvo is a true force of nature. He manipulates and murders his way through small-town Minnesota, leaving a trail of destruction in his wake. Malvo has a cool and calculated demeanor that makes him all the more terrifying.

8. King Joffrey Baratheon - Game of Thrones

Love to hate him, but there’s no denying that Joffrey deserves a place on this list at number 8. The boy king of Westeros, played by Jack Gleeson, is a pure sadist. He takes pleasure in the pain and suffering of others making him one of the most hated characters in the show’s history. Joffrey’s unpredictability, impulsivity, and general nastiness, made him a perfect nemesis for all our beloved heroes.

7. Hannibal Lecter - Hannibal

At number 7, we have the cannibalistic serial killer, Hannibal Lecter. Played by Mads Mikkelsen, his portrayal of the character is both terrifying and captivating. Hannibal’s intelligence, charm and his ability to manipulate those around him make him a formidable villain. With his refined taste in cuisine, and his love for the finer things in life, Hannibal is a villain unlike any other.

6. Gus Fring - Breaking Bad

Halfway through our list, and we have Gus Fring from Breaking Bad at number 6. The owner of Los Pollos Hermanos, Fring is a mastermind drug lord. His calm and collected demeanor, as well as his meticulous attention to detail, make him one of the most dangerous men in Albuquerque. Fring’s polite facade also adds to his menacing presence, making him a standout villain in the show.

5. Cersei Lannister - Game of Thrones

Our first female villain on the list is Cersei Lannister, played by Lena Headey, at number 5. The queen of the Seven Kingdoms, Cersei is ruthless and cunning. Her love for power and control has led her to commit heinous acts that have left a path of destruction in her wake. Cersei’s ability to manipulate those around her, as well as her willingness to do whatever it takes to maintain her hold on the Iron Throne, made her a true villain.

4. The Governor - The Walking Dead

At number 4, we have The Governor from The Walking Dead. Played by David Morrissey, The Governor was a master manipulator and a true psychopath. His control of Woodbury and his willingness to do whatever it takes to protect his own interests make him one of the most memorable villains on TV. The Governor’s cool exterior and quiet rage make him a true force to be reckoned with.

3. Stringer Bell - The Wire

Coming in at number 3, we have Stringer Bell from The Wire. Played by Idris Elba, Bell is the brains behind the Barksdale drug empire. Bell’s desire to be more than just a drug lord and his willingness to do whatever it takes to achieve his goals make him a standout character in the show.

At number 2, we have Walter White, played by Bryan Cranston, from the hit show Breaking Bad. Finally, at the top of our list, we have J.R. Ewing from the classic ’80s show Dallas. Played by Larry Hagman, J.R. is the ultimate villain. J.R.’s dry wit and his unwillingness to back down to anyone make him a true standout villain. Even 40 years after his first appearance, J.R.
